This page serves as a reference for the special abilities the heroes in KC(A) learn as they adventure onward. I've divided them up by skillset. Click the list below to jump directly to the skillset you want.
An ability's Type determines when it can be used. Its Target determines who it effects. Some abilities are further classified into Subsets. Psionic attacks, for example, are broken down into earth, fire, ice and electricity. Bladesong attacks are divided into the type of sword needed to do the attack: either curved, edged or short. Abilities without any subset are listed as "Basic".

Gadgets
Gadgeteers have a knack for building useful things, and some take this as far as to make weaponry which becomes useful in combat. In addition to weapons, armor and items, gadgeteers make special combat gear that only they can utilize. Most of this gear is useful for the purpose of elemental attacks, but there may be a few surprises as well.
Gadgets are created by use of a specific ability called Tinker. To make a new item the gadgeteer must first have an element and an ore. The element determines what the gadget will do, while the ore determines the strength of the item. Rarer ores produce more powerful and unique gadgets. Ores can usually be bought from vendors, but elements will have to be found (or Scrounged).
Gadgeteers need Fuel Cells to replenish the of their gadgets.

Psionics
The practice of psionics is used to manipulate the energies of the world, both inside and outside one's body, by using the mind. More to the point, the cipher is actually organizing single-celled organisms called the quevari, which live in symbiosis with humankind. Exactly how the quevari turn human concentration into psionic output is not well understood.
Psionics is broken up into different schools with different applications. The player characters in KC are primarily concerned with energy manipulation (the ability to launch psionic attacks at the opposition) and bioregulation (the ability to manipulate the body for the sake of healing and protection). At each even-numbered experience level a cipher has the opportunity to learn a new psionic talent. She can either choose to stay in her current school (and thus increasing her ability to use, say, ice-based attacks) or switch schools to diversify her arsenal. It is up to the player whether each cipher chooses to specialize, or branch out.
Characters who utilize Psionics need to use Pheurus Pills to replenish their .
